Sheridan faculty provide academic leadership to programs and courses within their areas of expertise and contribute to the creation of a learning-centred environment where students can develop to their full potential. They also contribute to College, Faculty, and program excellence by collaborating on a variety of initiatives such as new program development, applied research and alternative delivery strategies. Within this context of inspiring innovation and excellence, the Pilon School of Business is currently seeking a full-time Professor, Creative Advertising and Marketing.

What You’ll be Doing

[*]Ensuring program and course curricula are current, relevant and reflective of best practices within the relevant professional/program disciplines
[*]Defining, evaluating and validating applied learning outcomes for courses and programs
[*]Creating an effective environment for learning which accommodates students’ diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences and individual learning stylesDesigning appropriate strategies and tools for facilitating and assessing student learning that are invitational and reflective of best practices in teaching and learning
[*]Developing multi-media materials and alternative delivery strategies, and incorporating appropriate educational technologies into the applied learning process
[*]Ensuring that students are aware of course and program learning outcomes, learning strategies and evaluation techniques. Providing individual tutoring and academic counselling, and evaluating student progress/achievement within assigned courses
[*]Contributing to the advancement of scholarly research and knowledge in the areas of creative advertising and marketing

You bring a solid network of contacts with other academics, professionals, organizations and employers.

The successful candidate will also meet the following qualifications:

[*]MBA or a Master’s degree in a Marketing Management, Communications/Media or closely related field
[*]5 years of industry experience in Advertising/Marketing Communications
[*]2 years of experience teaching in a post secondary environment
[*]Experience in curriculum design and development at the post-secondary level with a demonstrated application of adult educational principles and teaching/assessment methodologies
[*]Sound knowledge of current advertising and marketing communications trends 
[*]Extensive experience in advertising and marketing communications strategy development, design, and implementation
[*]Excellent knowledge of Advertising/Media/Marketing Communications research and analytical tools including familiarity with broadcast/video, print/online and social media measurement databases
[*]Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and educational technologies such as D2L, and other industry standard communication tools

Faculty:  Pilon School of Business
Campus Location: HMC (May be assigned activities at any Sheridan campus) during normal operations.  Currently the position is a hybrid of in person and remote delivery.

Salary Range: $67,893 - $117,697 (based on relevant educational qualifications and experience)
