Inclusive Hiring Initiative

Sheridan is looking for an outstanding individual to join our faculty team, starting in August 2022. The successful candidate will teach students in both of our Honours Bachelor of Interior Design program and Interior Decorating diploma programs. They will demonstrate the ability to teach a range of skills and subjects that are required in professional practice. For example, we are looking for a candidate with expertise in the following areas: CADD, Revit, SketchUp, 20/20 software, the Adobe Creative Suite and AR/VR. The successful candidate will have experience working in visualization for the built environment and may have a background in Interior Design, Interior Decorating, Architecture or Architectural Technology.

What You’ll be Doing
  • Ensuring that program and course curricula are current, relevant, and reflective of best practices within the relevant professional/program disciplines
  • Defining, evaluating, and validating learning outcomes for courses and programs
  • Creating an effective environment for applied learning which accommodates students’ diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences and learning styles
  • Designing appropriate strategies and tools for facilitating and assessing student learning that are invitational and reflective of best practices in teaching and learning
  • Developing appropriate strategies and tools to assess student performance that are consistent with the learning outcomes of the course and address multiple learning styles
  • Developing multi-media materials and alternative delivery strategies, and incorporating appropriate educational technologies into the applied learning process

You can strategically incorporate your industrial experience into the learning environment.

You have a demonstrated ability to convey the conceptual and applied aspects of knowledge to a broad range of students.

You bring a large network of contacts with professionals, organizations, and industry.

The successful candidate will also meet the following qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in a related field of study preferred
  • A minimum of three years relevant practical and professional experience
  • Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level or equivalent experience teaching adult learners preferred
  • Formal studies in adult or higher education an asset

Other Details
Faculty/Department: Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design
Campus Location: Hazel McCallion Campus (may be assigned activities at any Sheridan campus) once normal campus operations resume. Currently the position is a hybrid of in person and remote delivery.
Employee Group: Academic
Hours: Professors may teach between the hours of 8:00am to 10:00pm
Start Date: August 22, 2022
Salary Range: $67,221 - $116,532 (Based on relevant educational qualifications and experience)
