St. Clair College is seeking an experienced and motivated professional who shares our commitment to quality and student success. Candidates must be available to teach Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:00 am – 9:00 pm and Friday between the hours of 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.

The Responsibilities of St. Clair College Professors include, but are not limited to:
Creating a positive learning environment that accommodate students’ diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences and individual learning styles;
Utilizing principles of adult education to actively engage students in the learning process;
Effectively using educational technologies to support learning, manage and post grades;
Developing curriculum that uses appropriate strategies and tools to assess student learning;
Ensuring that course and program curriculum is current and relevant;
Working independently and demonstrating initiative; and
Working effectively with students, the program team and a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Description:
Reporting to the Chair, School of Health Sciences, the professor is responsible for developing an effective learning environment for students by participating in the design, revision, and updating of curriculum, by teaching assigned courses and by providing academic leadership. Subjects to be taught could include hospital pharmacy dispensing laboratory, retail dispensing laboratory, sterile theory and sterile laboratory courses as well as other related subjects.

Qualifications:
Candidates must currently have Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) status in the province of Ontario and the minimum of five years of recent work experience. Experience with sterile compounding, unit dose packaging, multi-day dispensing systems, retail dispensing, expertise with all drug dosage forms and working knowledge with chemotherapy would be considered an asset.

Demonstrated experience teaching adult students at a post-secondary level;
Demonstrated commitment to teaching and learning with both the desire and ability to actively engage students in an interactive learning environment;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Willingness to serve on departmental and College committees;
Promotion of excellence in their field; Ability to work as a member of a team;
Must be able to teach online, as required
Personal commitment to professional development, and;
Excellent computer abilities including the utilization of computer programs.

Candidates selected for an interview will be required to provide a 10-minute teaching demonstration/presentation. Details will be provided when interviews are scheduled.
