St. Clair College offers a wide variety of programs and courses leading to two- and three-year diplomas, an applied degree as well as one- year certificates. Areas of study at the Windsor campus include Applied Arts and Science, Business, Creative Arts, Engineering and Manufacturing Technology, Health Sciences, Building Design and Construction Technology, Skilled Trades and Community Studies. The Thames Campus in Chatham provides programs in the School of Academic Studies and the School of Nursing

The responsibilities of St. Clair College Professors include, but are not limited to:
Reporting to the Chair, School of Health Sciences, the Paramedic Professor’s primary responsibilities include:
Creating a positive learning environment that accommodate students’ diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences and individual learning styles.
Utilizing principles of adult education to actively engage students in the learning process.
Effectively using educational technologies to support learning, manage and post grades.
Developing curriculum that uses appropriate strategies and tools to assess student learning.
Ensuring that course and program curriculum is current and relevant.
Working independently and demonstrating initiative.
Working effectively with students, the program team and a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will meet or exceed the following qualifications:
A Primary Care Paramedic in good standing with the Southwest Ontario Base Hospital Program (SWORBHP), be certified as an Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant in the province of Ontario, have participated in the SWORBHP Train the Trainer program, and will have current ambulance work experience.
Candidates who possess additional qualifications such as a degree in a related field, a degree in adult education, relevant teaching experience in a post-secondary setting, Advanced Care Paramedic certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support provider or instructor certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support provider or instructor certification will be an asset.
Minimum of 5 years recent and relevant work experience;
Teaching experience at the post-secondary level with a demonstrated application of adult educational principles and teaching/assessment methodologies.
Use of technology to support student learning and managing grades.
Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning and proven approach to life-long learning.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Self-motivated and independent worker who also functions well in a team environment.
Commitment to diversity and equity are essential to interact effectively with the College’s diverse student and staff population.
Willing ness to service on departmental and College committees; promotion of excellence in their field;
Understanding of the Ontario community college system;
Flexibility in adapting to change and in participating in consultative decision-making processes.
