St. Clair College is seeking an experienced and motivated professional who shares our commitment to quality and student success. Candidates must be available to teach Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:00am – 9:00pm and Friday between the hours of 8:00am – 6:00pm.

Reporting to the Chair, Zekelman School of IT, the Mobile Applications Development Professor’s primary responsibilities include:
Creating a positive learning environment that accommodate students’ diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences and individual learning styles.
Utilizing principles of adult education to actively engage students in the learning process.
Effectively using educational technologies to support learning, manage and post grades.
Developing curriculum that uses appropriate strategies and tools to assess student learning.
Ensuring that course and program curriculum is current and relevant.
Working independently and demonstrating initiative.
Working effectively with students, the program team and a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Areas to be taught include object-oriented computer programming, analysis and design, cross-platform development both web and native, advanced Object-oriented PHP, game development as well as other IT related areas.

The ideal candidate will meet or exceed the following qualifications:
A 3-year Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent required.
A minimum of five years recent and relevant work experience including three years in Object-oriented programming and web development using advanced frameworks.
Strong Java, PHP, and C# programming languages and game development in Unity and libGDX are required.
Networking and server administration experience are required.
Experience in iOS and Swift is required. Other related programming languages are an asset.
Teaching experience at the post-secondary level with a demonstrated application of adult educational principles and teaching/assessment methodologies.
Use of technology to support student learning and managing grades.
Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning and proven approach to life-long learning.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Self-motivated and independent worker who also functions well in a team environment.
Commitment to diversity and equity are essential to interact effectively with the College’s diverse student and staff population.
Understanding of the Ontario community college system.
Flexibility in adapting to change and in participating in consultative decision-making processes.
