DUTIES:

Northern College is seeking a qualified professional to teach a variety of courses in the program(s) of Communication.

As part of teaching assigned courses, the successful candidate will be expected to create a positive teaching and learning environment, using a variety of strategies and materials in the multi-modal delivery of courses. The incumbent should embody a commitment to student success and professional development and demonstrate capacity for leadership in a multi-cultural organization. In addition, the successful candidate must ensure currency and relevance of the teaching material and assessment techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The incumbent will possess the following qualifications:


Bachelor of Arts in English or Humanities is required;
Experience in teaching, especially in academic upgrading or similar environments would be considered an asset;
Bachelor and/or Master of Education would be considered an asset;
Familiarity with distance teaching approaches and technologies;
Competencies in other subject areas;(e.g. science, computers, etc.) would be an asset;
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment; and
Excellent digital literacy skills.
The incumbent may be required to provide a criminal reference check.
