DUTIES:

Reporting to the Director of Learning Innovation and Technology, the incumbent will work closely with faculty, staff and academic managers within the College to fulfill the College’s teaching and learning priorities. The successful incumbent will work both independently and collaboratively in the design, development and delivery of faculty training and professional development offerings and in the development of courses enriched by educational technologies. The incumbent will be responsible to coordinate program reviews (quality assurance) and prepare reports for submission to the Vice President of Academic & Student Success. Duties include:
• Provide guidance and assistance to faculty and staff in the development of effective teaching skills and learning experiences, specifically through the lenses of UDL and pedagogically informed technology applications;
• Provide guidance and assistance to faculty and deans in program development, through the CVS application and curriculum development stages;
• Work collaboratively in the design, development and delivery of mandatory and specialized educational development programming including the College’s online general education pool of courses;
• Design instructional approaches that role model best practices in critically reflective teaching and learning;
• Provide pedagogical support to faculty through consultation and observation, with the intent to build capacity;
• Develop and support peer networks to promote best practices in teaching and learning with faculty colleagues;
• Support the integration of educational technology into instructional and course design;
• Support faculty skills development, design, and implementation of scholarship within their teaching;
• Apply evidence-based and scholarly approaches to educational development programming design;
• Maintain an active and scholarly understanding of current trends in learning and higher education;
• Create an inclusive environment for learning and collaboration, which accommodates learners’ and colleagues’ diverse educational needs and perspectives.Given the service-delivery nature of the role, this person will be required to manage multiple priorities while being responsive to departmental and institutional emerging and shifting priorities. Some weekend or evening work may be required for delivery of faculty development and orientation offerings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• Master’s degree required (PhD preferred) in the field of adult learning, curriculum development, instructional design, teaching, and learning, or educational psychology;
• 5 years of experience and expertise in the development and delivery of curriculum, assessment and evaluation in higher education;
• Professional and educational experience with UDL frameworks and integration into teaching and learning;
• Competence and expertise with diverse educational technologies and experience integrating technology into curriculum development;
• Teaching experience at the post-secondary level;
• Understanding and integration of inclusive pedagogical principles into teaching practice;
• Experience with a wide range of active, learner-focused teaching and learning methods.
Asset:
• Related educational and/or teaching experience in adult learning, curriculum development, instructional design, teaching, and learning, or educational psychology;
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

The successful candidate may be required to provide a criminal reference check.
