Requisition 2831 - Radiography Instructor

Status: Full Time

Hours: Teaching is normally scheduled between 8:00am and 10:00pm, Monday to Friday. In accordance with the Collective Agreement, workload may be up to 44 hours per week.

Home Campus: IAHS

Rate of Pay: $48,075 - $81,621 per year

Start Rate: Upon hire, Human Resources will conduct a rate calculation based on completed education and work experience to determine the step within the range as per the Collective Agreement.

What you’ll be doing:

​Providing leadership through instruction of technical skills required in the simulation and delivery of radiography skills practice.
​Providing direction of effective communication skills with students and the instructional team.
​Providing formative feedback on an ongoing basis throughout all labs.
​Critically evaluating student performance in summative assessments.
​Act as a role model through demonstration of professional behaviour at all times.
​Participating in program, divisional and college-wide recruitment and marketing activities.
​Ensuring the student facing equipment meets safety requirements and proper maintenance through ongoing dialogue with our operations, support team and vendor.

What you’ll bring to the role:

​A diploma or degree from an accredited Medical Radiation Sciences program or equivalent.
​Certificate in adult education would be an asset.
​Proof of current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario or equivalent.
​Preference for six years of diverse and current experience in radiography practice, including patient care, general and digital radiography.
​Assets include experience in special procedures, mammography, computed tomography and PACS.
​Experience in critically evaluating student progress and performance.
​Engagement in ongoing and relevant professional development, with the ability to demonstrate knowledge of current technology and clinical practice.
​Teaching experience in a relevant post-secondary educational program would be an asset.
​Experience with Learning Management Systems and on-line course delivery would be an asset.
​Ability to relate theoretical knowledge and practical applications through innovative delivery methods to provide a meaningful learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds and ages.
​Learner-centred approach and to assist in the development and application of alternate delivery methods.
​Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
​The ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse students, employees, and communities.
