Mohawk College is currently recruiting for our next

Professor, Community Integration through Co-operative Education

The School of Health and Community Studies requires a full time Professor, CICE.

Under the direction of the Associate Dean, Professors in this department are responsible for providing academic leadership for developing an effective learning environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties of this position will include, but are not limited to the following:

·Teaching a variety of courses in the program as assigned

·Participation in program, school and college wide recruitment and marketing activities.

·Create a positive learning environment in the classroom and other learning spaces.

·Applying college values and philosophy in work activities and interaction with others

·Use a variety of teaching and learning strategies including classroom lectures and workshops, online learning, simulations and experiential learning.

·Promoting student success by identifying their strengths, learning styles and areas for development.

·Use a variety of techniques to evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes.

·Demonstration of student-centered course design and delivery, including aspects of Universal Design for Learning and intercultural competence.

·Assess student feedback and industry trends to develop, deliver and revise curriculum.


QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful applicant must have:

·A minimum of five years of progressive work experience in a related field working with individuals with varying abilities

·A BA in a related discipline, Masters degree is an asset.

·10 years prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level

·Demonstrated classroom management skills, experience working in a interdisciplinary team, and experience working in special education an asset.

·Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively inter-culturally with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.
