JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Interim Associate Dean, Personal Support Worker, the successful candidate will be required to teach full-time in the PSW Programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Teaching a variety of courses in the PSW program, as well as guest teaching in other courses across the Nursing Portfolio
• Developing and revising curriculum in the PSW programs of study working with a diverse group of faculty experts.
• Enhancing educational delivery through the use of technology and use of a variety of teaching and learning strategies, including online learning, at all delivery sites.
• Participating in program quality assurance activities.
• Participating in program, divisional and college-wide recruitment and marketing activities.
• Create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning and working environment for students and colleagues.
• Use a variety of techniques to evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful applicant will have:
• Completion of a Bachelor's degree in health science, general science or related discipline.
• Minimum of two years of practical work experience working with PSWs.
• Minimum of five years of diverse and current experience in healthcare.
• Engagement in ongoing and relevant professional development and ability to demonstrate knowledge of current practice and technology in education and the profession.
• Experience with teaching in an academic environment with PSW students.
• Experience with teaching in an online or blended learning environment with PSW students.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft office and educational learning technologies.
• Experience with curriculum development, research, simulation, inter-professional education and program accreditation
• Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively inter-culturally with diverse groups of students, employees and the community

The successful candidate must have an ability to relate theoretical knowledge and practical applications through innovative delivery methods so as to provide a meaningful learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds and ages. The ability to work as a part of a team and demonstration of excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Faculty members hired at Mohawk College must be prepared to teach with a learner-centered approach and to assist in the development and application of alternate delivery methods. He/she may be assigned to teach classes at any College Campus and may be scheduled to teach between 8:00am and 10:00pm, Monday to Friday.
