Position to commence in August.
All candidates selected for an interview will be required to present on a topic related to the position during the interview process.
The Professor will be responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective environment through the design and revision of programs and courses, defining and evaluating learning outcomes, developing appropriate teaching and learning environments, and developing / selecting appropriate learning materials. You will be expected to support student learning and progress, as well as create assessments, rubrics, and evaluate student achievement. Participating in the development and modification of curriculum, participating in various committees, and keeping current in your field through consultation with business and industry representatives are essential components of this position. You will champion the development of customized training and educational programs in collaboration with public and private sector partners. Program promotion and student recruitment are also essential areas of responsibility.
- A Masters in CYC Related Field Required
- A diploma in CYC/CYW is required
OACYC Certified Member is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience recent experience working as a Child and Youth Care Practitioner.
- 3 to 5 years teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
Additional Skills would be an asset:
Mental Health Training e.g. ASSIST, SAFE Talk, Mental Health First Aid

Successful candidates must be passionate about teaching, possess an understanding of the unique characteristics of an adult student and effectively support their learning. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment and capacity for teaching excellence, student engagement, scholarly activity, and campus citizenship. Candidates must be excellent communicators, possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to relate effectively to a wide variety of adult learners. Candidates who demonstrate knowledge or competency in the following academic skills and abilities will be given preference: instructional design and delivery; active, collaborative learning techniques; effective assessment and evaluation of learning; appropriate use of technology for teaching and learning; a track record of professional and academic development.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to integrate technology into their teaching practice (e.g. alternate delivery through hybrid, online, mobile enhanced learning, and social media) and possess a commitment to lifelong learning, academic scholarship, and professional integrity.
