All candidates selected for an interview will be required to present on a topic related to the position during the interview process.

Position to commence as soon as possible.

Specific Accountabilities:
The Professor will be responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective environment through the design and revision of programs and courses, defining and evaluating learning outcomes, developing appropriate teaching and learning environments, and developing / selecting appropriate learning materials. You will be expected to tutor and counsel students as well as create assessments, rubrics, and evaluate student achievement. Participating in the development and modification of curriculum, participating in various committees, and keeping current in your field through consultation with business and industry representatives are essential components of this position. You will champion the development of customized training and educational programs in collaboration with public and private sector partners. Program promotion and student recruitment are also essential areas of responsibility.

• You are credentialed with an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) from an Equal Canada Accredited program.
• Bachelor’s degree or Masters in a directly related field is preferred.
• You will have successfully completed the provincial exam (AEMCA).
• Current Primary Care Paramedic and Advanced Care Paramedic certification is required.
• Minimum of 5 years recent clinical practice in the primary care or advanced paramedic care field.
• Teaching experience at the post-secondary level is highly desirable
• Experience with incorporating simulations in lab/didactic teaching is an asset

Candidates must be excellent communicators, possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners. Candidates who demonstrate knowledge or competency in the following academic skills and abilities will be given preference: curriculum design; instructional design and delivery; active, collaborative learning techniques; effective assessment and evaluation of learning; appropriate use of technology for teaching and learning; a track record of professional and academic development.

• The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to integrate technology into their teaching practice (e.g. alternate delivery through hybrid, online, mobile enhanced learning, and social media) and possess a commitment to lifelong learning, academic scholarship, and professional integrity.
