Position Summary
The successful candidate will support and teach Properties of Materials, Manufacturing Processes, Composites, Fluid Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Mechanical Drafting (AutoCAD/ Solid works /CATIA), Dynamics and Aerodynamics, Tool Design, Machine Design, CFD/FEA for Aerospace, Project Management, Thermodynamics, and Blueprint Reading courses. The candidate will teach in the Aerospace and/or Mechanical Engineering Technology programs.

In addition to teaching assigned courses, the successful candidate will be expected to:
• Use effective interpersonal communication skills with students, faculty, management and external partners or community members.
• Provide and promote a respectful and supportive environment based on the principles of inclusion, equity and diversity.
• Work effectively in a team-based environment and create a positive teaching environment.
• Use a variety of appropriate teaching/learning strategies to enhance the student learning experience.
• Use academic technology to effectively engage students in design, development and implementation of technical projects.
• Evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes using a variety of techniques and provide timely feedback.
• Develop, revise and adapt appropriate learning resources for students.
• Engage students to create a positive teaching and learning environment.
• Critically examine learning materials and classroom instructional practice for discriminatory bias or barriers
• Provide academic support to students
• Contribute as a subject matter expert to support curriculum development and revision.
• Maintain and expand contacts with relevant industry and professional associations.
• Remain current in technical knowledge and instructional delivery techniques.
• Attend meetings, maintain records of student grades/assessments, and participate in meetings and activities pertinent to faculty responsibilities.
• Participate in research projects with the department and Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Services. (ARIES)

• Minimum Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or related Engineering Disciplines, PhD and Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) or Avionics Engineering Technician is an asset.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant technical industrial experience in designing, building, and commissioning mechanical products and systems.
• Demonstrated current knowledge in the following areas: Properties of Materials, Manufacturing Processes, Composites, Fluid Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Mechanical Drafting (AutoCAD/Solid works/CATIA), Dynamics and Aerodynamics, Tool Design, Machine Design, CFD/FEA for Aerospace, Thermodynamics, and Blueprint Reading courses.
• Minimum of two years teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum design & development.
• Demonstrated ability with online, hybrid and blended learning methods of delivery and assessment.
• Demonstrated competent written, oral and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a team.
• Demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion to meet the needs of our diverse students, staff and college community.
